Corruption, tribalism “twin evils” of Ghana’s unemployment – Nduom

The founder of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has blamed the unemployment situation in Ghana on tribalism and corruption.

He described the two as “twin evils” which must not be overlooked, adding unemployment is a major problem in Ghana that should not be glossed over.

Addressing students of the Catholic University in the Brong Ahafo region, Dr Nduom urged the students to make the necessary change needed to create employment opportunities for graduates across the country.

He noted although there are lack of job opportunities for graduates, it is possible to create many employment avenues with the right attitude and leadership.

“I am asking you to work together … it’s possible,” Dr. Nduom stated.

He stressed that tribalism and corruption have gone a long way to derail our employment systems, adding tribalism cuts off well qualified people with the requisite skills from being employed, a situation which is not only prevalent in the public but private sector, thereby retarding economic growth.

Dr Nduom added that raising the level of education in the country as well as supporting and patronising our own products would help solve the unemployment situation in the country.
